The Queers are a legendary American punk rock band known for fast, loud, no-frills songs packed with bratty attitude, bubblegum hooks, and classic Ramones-style energy. Formed in Portsmouth, New Hampshire in the early 1980s and led by longtime frontman Joe Queer, the band became a staple of underground punk with their raw humor, catchy songwriting, and relentless live presence.
Breaking through in the 1990s with albums like Love Songs for the Retarded, Beat Off, Move Back Home, and Don’t Back Down, The Queers helped define a generation of pop-punk that fused sneering punk rock with surf, garage, and old-school rock ’n’ roll melody. Their songs are short, sharp, obnoxiously catchy, and built for sweaty rooms full of singalongs.
With decades of touring, a massive discography, and a lasting influence on punk bands across the world, The Queers remain one of the most recognizable names in American punk rock—rowdy, irreverent, and still proudly flying the flag for loud guitars and bad decisions.

The Barksdales – A relentless powerhouse of gritty punk rock ’n’ roll. Formed in 2012 by veterans of the local underground circuit, The Barksdales dish out raw, high-decibel energy, pounding rhythms, and anthemic, twin-guitar-driven grit. They play fast, loud, and take zero prisoners.
The Sneers – Praised for blending hardcore punch with free-flowing, dynamic song structures, The Sneers are one of the most uniquely captivating bands in the region. Local press has spotlighted their distinct lyricism that captures the pure raw spirit of the Rust Belt: dark humor, restlessness, sharp wit, and unvarnished angst.
Abandoned Trains – Channeling vintage DIY spirit and raw power, Abandoned Trains deliver hard-hitting Buffalo hardcore-punk built specifically for sweaty basements, bruised shins, and high-volume singalongs. Expect pure, unfiltered adrenaline from the first chord to the last.
BastardBastardBastard – Celebrating over a decade of chaos, Buffalo’s own thrash-punk maniacs bring pure ferocity every time they plug in. Known across Western New York for their wild live energy, heavy crossover speed, and campy stage presence, NYS Music previously highlighted how they command the entire room with an unstoppable pit presence.
