Stress Dolls, Kasador, TTTT live in the 9th Ward

February 8 @ 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm

STRESS DOLLS:

Stress Dolls is the moniker of Chelsea O’Donnell, a songwriter from Buffalo, NY. O’Donnell began playing around Western New York in 2013, initially calling herself Wolf and eventually forming a band. After releasing one EP, the group went through a few different line-ups and, in time, changed their name to Stress Dolls.

Due to differing pursuits the band split in early 2017, but O’Donnell decided to keep playing under the name Stress Dolls. In hopes of furthering her career, she moved to Nashville, TN but was there only 6 months before chronic health issues sent her to the hospital to undergo a feeding tube procedure. Following the surgery she moved back to Buffalo, and after a period of recovery, began writing, performing, and recording again.

From 2019 to 2021 O’Donnell independently recorded and released new music, and in early 2022 she was invited to work with Jim Wirt (Fiona Apple, Jack’s Mannequin, Something Corporate, Incubus) at Superior Sound Studios in Cleveland, OH. After recording several songs together, including her latest singles “Ghostwriter” and “Body,” she was offered a record deal with Sun Pedal Recordings.Currently, Stress Dolls takes on several forms live: solo with O’Donnell and her acoustic guitar; as a duo when joined by longtime collaborator Sally Schaefer on violin; or as a band when combined with members TJ Luckman (bass), Jordan Smith (lead guitar), and Josh English (drums). The project’s sound has drawn such comparisons as “Joni Mitchell meets Nirvana,” “Avril Lavigne and Foo Fighters in a blender,” and “Kathleen Hanna fronting Modest Mouse.”

KASADOR:

Kingston, Ontario band Kasador have never been scared of change and the three friends at Kasador’s core—Cam Wyatt (vocals/guitar), Boris Baker (bass), and Stephen Adubofuor (drums)—have been through a lot of it. They’ve woven years of tumult through their mid-20s into something powerful and real: a tight-knit, sincere, and caring rock and roll band. In June 2023 they released “Youth”, their sophomore LP about youth, memory, relationships, and how the relentless passage of time shapes and constantly reshapes all of those things. It’s a bright, punkish, emotional guitar-rock record that ultimately tracks the process of learning to be okay with not being okay. Since the release, the band have been drawing lots of attention for their raw and honest sound, captivating high energy live performances, and stunning visuals – the music video for single Lock On won Best Music Video at the 2023 Kingston Canadian Film Festival. On the heels of their sophomore LP “Youth” (June 2, 2023), just as the band are hitting full sprint, they’re releasing follow-up singles “Come Over” (November 10th) and Blue (January 19) and embarking on a 21 show North American Tour which includes a Western Canada Tour supporting Finger Eleven.

T.T.T.T.:
T.T.T.T. is a trio based in Buffalo, NY

T.T.T.T. began as a solo recording project for Jacob King while studying at SUNY Fredonia. Convertins an old landline telephone into a microphone, King opted to make noisy home recordings influenced by early punk and garage rock.

During the summer of 2023, he formed a group for T.T.T.T. to perform throughout Western NY. The band consists of King on guitar and vocals, Meg Munro on bass and Cam Bunch on drums.

Recording new material together, the trio has multiple releases planned for 2024.
