INCIPIO presents Verbum: Sacred Music through the Ages

Join INCIPIO for Verbum, an evening of contemplative sacred music. Presenting unique standalone classics like Sergei Rachmoninoff’s “Bogoroditse Devo” alongside new warhorses like Jake Runestad’s “Alleluia”, this will be an evening you won’t soon forget. This concert presentation also features unique comparative pairings, engaging the audience to bask in the glory of three different takes on William Byrd’s “Ave verum corpus” and two versions of the famous “O sacrum convivium”. And in traditional INCIPIO style, our music always has something for everyone, from a traditional droned chant, to the upbeat avant-garde, to the pillars of the repertoire.

INCIPIO’s mission is simple: to give young and burgeoning singers an opportunity to perform groundbreaking, evocative music in a group that prepares them for the professional vocal world.

We aim to perform a diverse repertoire – everything from video game music, to folk songs, to Broadway and pop ballads, to some very classic madrigals. Our singers, who come from a diverse array of backgrounds united by their musicianship, include several young music educators, choir singers, and professional performers from around Western New York.
