Art On Oliver Street- A Public Art Initiative CALL FOR ARTISTS!
Deadline for Submissions: Friday, March 1, 2019 at 5PM
Lumber City Development Corporation was awarded funding through the OATH Community Benefit Fund to fund public art on Oliver Street. This initiative known as “Art on Oliver Street” will officially launch in Spring 2019.
This is a 3-part project that will include:
1. Installing approximately 24 reproductions of artwork in the windows of vacant and underutilized storefronts on Oliver St. between Thompson & Wheatfield Streets.
2. The creation of a 3D installation display in a storefront on the corner of Oliver & Thompson Streets.
3. The creation of a mural by Chuck Tingley at the DHU Strand Theatre located at 540 Oliver Street.
**We are seeking artists who wish to participate in this program. Please refer to the Call for Artists submission forms via the link below for more information.
All entries are due on March 1st 2019 at 5 PM, and the selection process will begin mid-March 2019. All submissions must be submitted via email (see the calls for work below for more info).
Through this project, we hope to create a “walking art gallery” on Oliver Street which will not only immerse pedestrians in the local arts community, but will bring attention to buildings, promote walk-ability, and beautify this key corridor in North Tonawanda.
