SUMMARY:The Eagle Rock Gospel Singers w/ Part Time Genius\, PA Line at Buffalo Iron Works | MAY 17
DESCRIPTION:The Eagle Rock Gospel Singers perform live at Buffalo Iron Works on Sunday\, May 17th with Part Time Genius & PA Line! \nThe Eagle Rock Gospel Singers: \nThe Eagle Rock Gospel Singers began as friends getting together. They began as a choir of 15 people who revived the old Gospel spirit with songs like “I Shall Not Be Moved\,” “12 Gates\,” and “In My Time of Dying.” They evolved into a band of five\, committed to the richness found in early 20th century recordings. They are influenced by past Gospel musicians such as The Dixie Hummingbirds\, Washington Phillips\, and Sister Rosetta Tharpe as well as a number of modern artists from all genres. \nThe Eagle Rock Gospel Singers preserve and electrify traditional music as they echo the stylings of blues\, folk\, country\, and Gospel music. They push these genres with modern vocal harmonies and pop music arrangements. They epitomize cathartic Americana roots music. \nBuffalo Iron Works \n49 Illinois St\, Buffalo\, NY 14203 \nTickets: $15 ADV // $20 DOS \nDoors: 6:00pm \nShow: 7:00pm \nAges: 18+ \nAll-In Pricing Notice \nIn accordance with New York State law\, all ticketed events must display the total price of admission upfront — including all fees\, charges\, and taxes. This means the price you see listed is the final price you’ll pay. No hidden fees\, no surprises at checkout — just full transparency from the start.

SUMMARY:Johnny Hart and The Mess w/ Buffalo Dead All Stars at Iron Works | MAY 16
DESCRIPTION:Johnny Hart and The Mess return to Buffalo Iron Works with Buffalo Dead All Stars on Saturday\, May 16th! \nJohnny Hart and The Mess \nJohnny Hart and the Mess celebrate the history of rock n roll while paving the way for a new era. With influences from across the board\, the band has its roots soaked in rock\, but wanders off the beaten bath and delves into various veins of music and sound. Most fittingly is the “Alt Rock” nomenclature because it is so broadly defined. At any given point\, the band can sound like a pop band\, a blues band\, a country band\, a jam band or a funk band. Suppose it depends on the day\, the night and the crowd. \nHaving shared the stage with The Black Crowes\, Caamp\, Marcus King\, Cory Wong\, The Wailers\, Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country\, Dark Star Orchestra\, Fitz and the Tantrums\, Shaed\, Grace Potter\, The Sheepdogs\, Andy Frasco\, Neal Francis\, Joey Harkum and many more\, Johnny Hart and the Mess have solidified themselves as a ” Soulfully urgent Alt Rock Powerhouse”. \nBuffalo Iron Works \n49 Illinois St\, Buffalo\, NY 14203 \nTickets: $15 ADV // $20 DOS \nDoors: 7:00pm \nShow: 8:00pm \nAges: 18+ \nAll-In Pricing Notice \nIn accordance with New York State law\, all ticketed events must display the total price of admission upfront — including all fees\, charges\, and taxes. This means the price you see listed is the final price you’ll pay. No hidden fees\, no surprises at checkout — just full transparency from the start.

SUMMARY:The Travesties & Canela - The Big Easy in Buffalo Local Series
DESCRIPTION:The Travesties & CanelaThe Big Easy in Buffalo Local seriesSportsmen’s TavernThursday April 30\, 5pm doors\, 7pm show$15https://www.showclix.com/event/-the-travesties-canela \nThe Travesties (garage folk) & Canela (tango/string quartet)\, performing separately and together. Sally (of The Travesties) will be writing a string quartet arrangement for a Travesties original song and Vanessa (of Canela) will be writing a full rock band arrangement for a Canela original – to be performed by both bands together! \nBuffalo-based folk rock band THE TRAVESTIES breathe fire into folk songs old and new\, including a treasure trove of Americana and Irish music. Songwriter Tyler Bagwell is a historian with a busker’s voice in search of couplets within the notion that “history rhymes.” Fiddler Sally Schaefer is an ethnomusicologist with wide-ranging folk and traditional music interests. Together\, with bassist Patrick Jackson of Folkfaces and drummer Marc Smith of BTPM The Bridge\, they invent and reinvent songs highlighting events\, people\, and places of local and national note. \nCANELA is not your ordinary quartet. Augmented by bass and percussion\, we take a fresh look at what a string ensemble can accomplish and communicate when traditional boundaries of genre and style are reimagined. \nSince 2007 The Big Easy in Buffalo has brought New Orleans and Louisiana music and culture to the Western New York region several times a year for free and low-cost live performance\, as well as music education and mentoring for local musicians\, students\, and the community. Through The Big Easy in Buffalo thousands of students\, dozens of local bands\, and countless audience members in Western New York have been exposed to this unique American culture. The Big Easy in Buffalo is made possible in part by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Hochul and the NYS Legislature\, Erie County\, Goldfarb Financial\, Erie County Legislator Michael Kooshoian\, Buffalo.FM\, Dick & Jenny’s\, National Fuel Gas Co.\, and Sportsmen’s Tavern. \nCover poster by S Schaefer\, featuring public domain art “The Old Violin” by John Frederick Peto (c. 1890).
