Having gone on the road at age 17\, music is his life. \nAs a teenager Jony played school dances\, talent shows at churches\, and three times at the famed Regal Theatre. He went on to play clubs including Burning Spear\, Teresa’s\, Wise Fools\, Ma B’s and Buddy Guy’s Checkerboard Lounge. \n In the early 70’s\, while sitting in one night with the Fabulous Thunderbirds\, Jony met and began working with harmonica wizard Shakin Smith and he relocated back to Buffalo. After playing coast to coast with various outfits in the U.S. and Canada for over 15 years\, he formed The Jony James Band in the early 90’s. The band toured the East Coast and Southeast United States. They were signed with Blue Wave Records and released two cd’s.
