Since their self-titled debut in 1988 to the widely praised comeback albums “The Missing Peace” and “The Devil You Know”, L.A. GUNS, led by Tracii Guns and Phil Lewis have always delivered solid rock ‘n roll to their fans. This current incarnation of the band has been touring non-stop, with a notable break coinciding with all other touring bands, and the cohesiveness of the unit, not to mention Phil’s stunning and unique vocals and Guns’ mind-bending guitar playing, are on full display here. A must hear and listen for all fans of the band, both new and old.

L.A. Guns never looked like the pretty poster boys that so many of their peers did, but more the band that you would be terrified to bump into in an alley as they would likely be carrying switchblades and ready for a fight. But despite having many songs to back up that image, the band could also write powerful ballads (see the smash hit, “The Ballad Of Jayne” for Exhibit A of this argument) that showed there were some serious songwriting chops in the band. Those chops are on full display on the band’s two most recent studio albums and the upcoming new album, “Checkered Past,” arguably one of the most vital and exciting releases in the band’s catalog.

Elderbrook
elderbrookofficial.com

A live phenomenon, multi-instrumentalist, producer and singer-songwriter Elderbrook has an innate flair for creating emotive music that explores the sensitive and introspective themes of identity and mental wellbeing.

He exploded onto the scene with 2017 global smash ‘Cola’. The hit track, a collaboration with Camelphat, sold over seven million copies worldwide, earning him Grammy and Ivor Novello nods, plus a coveted No.1 on the US Dance Airplay Chart.

Since then Elderbrook has conceived two critically-acclaimed albums (2020’s Why Do We Shake in the Cold? and 2023’s Little Love). The former is an exploration of human connection, while the latter LP took inspiration from his shift into fatherhood. Add to that his singles and collaborations, and you have a formidable catalogue of timeless, danceable compositions.

Since exploding onto the scene in 2017, Elderbrook has picked up over 1.5 billion global streams, tours with Jungle, Rüfüs Du Sol and Odesza, and collaborations with Diplo, Bob Moses, Black Coffee and Rudimental.

He was one of the few UK acts who was able to tour extensively throughout the US in 2020, and his fanbase has grown exponentially from that period up to now. Landmark gigs include a headline show at the iconic Red Rocks in Colorado and his showstopping performance on the Sahara Stage at Coachella, plus numerous dates around the USA, Australia and Europe. All of which have earned him a revered reputation as a dynamic, multi-faceted, forward-thinking talent entering the next phase of his career stronger than ever.

Elderbrook (AKA Alex Kotz) is the type of multi-faceted, forward-thinking talent who is comfortable exploring a range of genres. A renowned act on the international circuit, with two LPs and a stunning live show, as well as numerous solo cuts and collaborations, he exploded onto the scene with 2017 global smash ‘Cola’. The hit track, a collaboration with Camelphat, sold over seven million copies worldwide, earning him Grammy and Ivor Novello nods, plus a coveted No.1 on the US Dance Airplay Chart.

Since then he’s gone on to pick up over 1.5 billion global streams, tours with Jungle, Rüfüs Du Sol and odesza, and collaborations with Diplo, Bob Moses and Rudimental which have earned him a revered global reputation as one of the most dynamic electronic artists.

A prolific producer, Elderbrook is constantly creating, channeling his innate talent into a variety of collaborative projects, as well as his solo work. This includes his latest single ‘Glad I Found You’ with British dance music stalwart George FitzGerald. The emotive cut merges a delicate melody and heartrending vocals with a powerful low end. These elements are complemented and amplified by the song’s mesmerizing musicality – as always with Elderbrook the arrangement and composition is rich with emotion and danceability.

In 2020 Elderbrook elevated his creativity to the LP format with the critically-acclaimed Why Do We Shake in the Cold?. The eleven-track release signaled a new chapter in the story of this wild spirit. A heartfelt exploration into human interaction, the LP was a powerful sonic journey that featured some of Elderbrook’s finest tracks to date, including vibrant Rudimental collaboration ‘Something About You’.

In 2021, he teamed up with fellow musical visionaries Black Coffee and Diplo on ‘Never Forget’. A single and album track on Black Coffee’s Grammy-winning LP Subconsciously, the emotion-tinged electro-acoustic jam is propelled by Eldebrook’s soaring, pitch-perfect vocals. This collaborative spirit is evident throughout his discography, with a variety of projects rooted in his desire to share his ideas and creative output with other artists. A few standouts include ‘Innerlight’ with Bob Moses, ‘When I Talk’ with Kx5, plus ‘Beautiful Morning’, ‘I’ll Be Around’ (with Amtrac), ‘Howl’ (with Tourist), and ‘Talk It Over’, (with Vintage Culture) from Little Love.

Innerlight featured three collaborations in total – Bob Moses, Emmit Fenn and Louis The Child – and a solo cut. All three songs are with North American artists, reinforcing his connection to the continent and demonstrating his inherent Midas touch for collaborative projects.

Since then he has conceived another long-player – 2023’s Little Love. A 10-track collection of music composed since his daughter was born in 2020, Little Love is driven by Elderbrook’s penchant for organic sounds and his spellbinding voice. The album is quintessential Elderbrook – emotive, heartfelt and utterly compelling. Tracks like ‘What Goes Around Comes Around’ and ‘Tied To You’ epitomise the album’s theme beautifully, utilising Elderbrook’s heartrending vocals, with spinetingling production. Across all ten cuts he balances the nuance of the human experience with 4×4 rhythms, stirring basslines and uplifting melodies. A new album, as yet unnamed, has been scheduled for release in September 2024.

2023 also saw Elderbrook embark on a sold-out US tour with his revamped visual show, which kicked off in Vancouver and culminated with his debut performance on the Sahara stage at Coachella. Elderbrook’s activity in America has been almost unprecedented (for a British electronic artist) in recent years. He was one of the few UK acts who was able to tour extensively throughout the US in 2020, and his fanbase has grown exponentially from that period up to now. This popularity with the US audience led to his huge headline show at the legendary Red Rocks amphitheatre in Colorado. The 9,500-capacity venue is a highly coveted spot for performers all over the world, and Elderbrook’s headline show is indicative of his standing in the USA.

A prolific collaborator, it’s connecting with other artists, and the magic they create together, that drives his bountiful creativity. Through bonding with other musicians, Elderbrook connects with listeners all over the world, telling his story through his remarkable ability to channel emotion into exceptional compositions that energize the dance floor.

Music has the power to move us—literally, figuratively, and spiritually. It motivates us to rise above the challenges of our daily lives and, on a larger scale, face the world’s struggles. Through an unspoken sonic communion between three distinct musical identities, SunSquabi—Kevin Donohue [guitar, keys, production], Josh Fairman [bass, synth], and Scotty Zwang [drums]—ignite action and inspiration with their signature live electronica sound. With millions of streams and electrifying performances at iconic venues like Red Rocks Amphitheatre, they’re pushing boundaries with each release. Following their acclaimed Cloudburst EP, they’re ready to inspire listeners again with their latest project, the Grind EP, showcasing a new era for the band.

“After the past few years of hardships, we wanted to create music that reflects perseverance and evolution,” explains Kevin. “These new releases capture how we’ve grown during challenging times. Grind is about doing whatever it takes to move forward.”

Since 2015, SunSquabi has brought their unique blend of live electronic funk to audiences around the world. Releases like Odyssey [2016], Deluxe EP [2017], and Instinct [2019] have solidified their reputation as a must-see live act, with praise from outlets like 303 Magazine, JamBase, and Live For Live Music. WestWord noted their “electrifying moments,” while ThisSongIsSick praised, “SunSquabi never fails to bring the funk.” Along the way, they’ve sold out venues coast-to-coast and performed three unforgettable Red Rocks shows, capturing one in their release, SunSquabi (Live at Red Rocks). Collaborations with artists like The String Cheese Incident, Late Night Radio, Lettuce, and GRiZ have only expanded their creative horizons.

During the Pandemic, SunSquabi focused on writing and recording, turning jam sessions into fully-realized songs. “A lot of tracks started as improvised jams during live streams,” recalls Kevin. “We used that time to craft our ideas and make them come alive in the studio.”

Josh adds, “We stayed true to who we are and to each other. We didn’t chase trends; we made music that felt genuine to us. The Grind EP is a testament to that authenticity.”

SunSquabi’s latest work reflects their journey and resilience. The Cloudburst EP and the upcoming Grind EP continue to embody the band’s commitment to creating an uplifting, groovy, and soulful experience. In the end, SunSquabi’s mission remains the same: to elevate spirits and encourage listeners to rise above any obstacles in their path.

Motifv
linktr.ee/motifv

Motifv, the musical moniker of Joseph Kechter, is a 26 year old musician and producer born and raised in the foothills of Northern Colorado. His beautifully blunted beats meander between futuristic synthesis and collages of gospel and soul. Motifv has maintained an almost analog mystique, which is influenced by his surroundings and also reflected in his visual offerings. His debut album, “The Path,” was self released in 2019 to much acclaim and has garnered him a loyal following. As he continued to expand perspective and explore more genre-bending techniques, his sophomore album “Dilated Mind” flowed through stereos in 2021 via Featherweight Records. As he begins to navigate new horizons and express himself beyond words, you will now find him deep in the studio, constantly cooking up something for the future.
